Vivo X500 Series India Launch: BIS Certification, Expected Price and Specifications
Vivo’s next flagship family is one step closer to India. The Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max have received BIS certification in India, according to reports dated 31 October 2026 — the clearest signal yet that the phones are headed to Indian shelves. Here is what the certification means, when the phones are expected, and what they offer.

Quick Facts
- Phones certified: Vivo X500 (model V2619), X500 Pro (V2621) and X500 Pro Max (V2610), per TelecomTalk’s report of the BIS listings.
- India launch window (reported, not confirmed): end of November 2026, with December also possible — Vivo has historically launched its X series in India in December (the X300 series arrived 2 December 2025).
- India price: not announced yet. China prices below are the best guide so far.
- Headline hardware: MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip on the Pro models, up to a 200MP ZEISS telephoto camera, and up to an 8,000mAh battery.
Vivo X500 Series Price (China Prices as a Guide)
Vivo launched the series in China on 21 September 2026. China starting prices were: X500 at CNY 5,499 (about Rs 68,000 at direct conversion), X500 Pro at CNY 6,499 (about Rs 80,000) and X500 Pro Max at CNY 6,999 (about Rs 86,000). India prices will differ after taxes and positioning — treat these as a guide, not the Indian MRP. Vivo has not announced Indian prices.
Vivo X500 Series Specifications
Performance: the X500 Pro and Pro Max are the first phones with MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip (up to 4.55 GHz), while the standard X500 uses the Dimensity 9600M. All three run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 in China; the Indian units will run Vivo’s Funtouch OS.
Cameras: the Pro models share a 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 main camera with ZEISS T* coating and 17 stops of dynamic range, plus a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP selfie camera. The Pro Max adds a 200MP periscope telephoto; the Pro uses a 64MP periscope telephoto. The standard X500 has a 50MP main camera, 64MP telephoto and 50MP ultrawide. Video goes up to 4K at 240fps slow motion, and 8K at 30fps on the Pro Max.
Display and battery: the X500 Pro is the compact one at 6.36 inches (LTPO AMOLED, 144Hz) with a 6,510mAh battery; the Pro Max stretches to 6.85 inches (2K) with an 8,000mAh battery; the standard X500 packs a 7,500mAh battery. All three support 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, and IP68 + IP69 dust and water resistance.
What BIS Certification Does — and Does Not — Mean
BIS certification is a mandatory safety and conformity clearance for electronics sold in India. A listing proves the hardware is cleared — it does not announce a launch date, price or final Indian spec sheet. Vivo still has to finalise Indian software, retail stock and marketing before an announcement. Until Vivo posts an official teaser, treat the end-November window as a working estimate, with December as a live possibility.
Should You Wait for the Vivo X500 Series?
Honest take: if you want the newest camera hardware and the first 2nm MediaTek chip, waiting a few weeks makes sense — the BIS clearance means an announcement is near. But if you need a phone now, the outgoing X300 series and rivals like the OPPO Find X10 series are already on sale with known prices. Do not pay a premium to import the Chinese unit — Indian warranty and network bands matter more than getting it a month early.
